LOUIS MICHIEL (OR MICHIELSEN), ATTRIBUTED TO (documented in The Hague in 1675 and died in Amsterdam after 1685) Still Life with Rooster, Partridge and Game Bag Canvas 109 x 90 cm Provenance: Julius Böhler Gallery in Munich in 1977. Acquired by the current owner in 1990 from the Robert Mikaeloff Gallery. Our painting was given to Willem van Aelst (1627-1683) in the 20th century. Walter Berndt dated 30 May 1975), then attributed to Louis Michiel by Fred G. Meijer in 2008. It can be compared with Louis Michiel's "Nature Morte signée", dated 1680 and now in the Gemäldegalerie der Akkademie in Vienna (Inv. Nr 703). Our painting is listed in the R.K.D. (Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie) under permalink no. 55941, as "attributed to Louis Michiel".
