LOUIS XIV (1638-1715). 2 P.S. (secretary), Versailles 1691-1698; countersigned by Louis Phelypeaux oblong vellum in-fol. Patents of pension for Nicolas-Auguste de Harlay (1647-1704, seigneur de Bonneuil, he had been ambassador plenipotentiary, notably for the negotiation of the treaty of Ryswick in 1697). 11 September 1691, annual pension of 5000 livres "in consideration of his services". 22 February 1698, pension increase of a further 5000 livres, for his services, in particular "as first Plenipotentiary and Ambassador Extraordinary of His Majesty at the Conferences of Ryswick, where he negotiated the General Peace to the entire satisfaction of His Majesty"... Attached is a L.S. (secretary), countersigned by Colbert de Croissy, 29 September 1693, to Le Bret, President of the Parlement de Provence; plus a copy of Louis XIII's letters patent concerning duels (1615, defects).
