Louis XVI hinged buffet with chinoiserie decoration of rosewood, satinwood and maple, veneered, inlays of various woods and inset panels with lacquer decoration. Straight, rectangular body flanked by narrow, angled corner pilaster strips on angled, canted baluster legs. Two doors of different widths, some hinged, in the compartmentalised front. Slightly protruding, hinged top panel with hinged shelves and central washbasin with engraved coat of arms of the von Tümpling family and recessed pewter bowl. Wide framed veneer panels covering the entire surface, bordered by various ribbon inlays and a central lacquer painting depicting a landscape. Key plates also with engraved coat of arms of the von Tümpling family. H. 95.5/149 cm. 116 cm x 61 cm.

Provenance: Acquired in 1989 from Leo Spik, Berlin. According to proof of purchase from the von Tümpling family, inventory of Löbichau Castle, which the family had acquired from the estate of the descendants of Anna Dorothea von Kurland.
