[LOUVRE]. Notice des tableaux exposés dans le Musée royal. Paris, Vinchon, 1830. In-12, soft bound in long-grained blue morocco, gilt filets, royal arms in the centre, smooth spine decorated with fleurs-de-lis, gilt edges (period binding). An interesting portable catalogue of the collections of the Royal Museum, then housed in the galleries of the Louvre.
It was the first to appear under this title. It describes 1286 paintings divided into four schools (French, German, Dutch and Italian), listed in alphabetical order by artist, with a few biographical details. Each number indicates the title of the work, its size and sometimes a commentary.
Bound in soft morocco with the royal coat of arms, a rare and desirable condition. Beautiful condition.
