LOWER (Richard). Tractatus de corde. Item de motu et colore sanguinis, et chyli in eum transitu. Amsterdam, Daniel Elsevier, 1669. In-12, speckled calf, spine decorated, mottled edges (Binding of the period). First Elsevier edition, published the same year as the London original, with the same seven folding plates.
An important treatise on cardiology by Richard Lower (1631-1691), in which he sets out his principles concerning blood circulation and cardiac physiology. He was the first to describe the physio-pathological mechanisms of venous and arterial thrombosis and the anatomo-pathological lesions of constrictive pericarditis.
