LOWER YUKON OR YU’PIK WOLF MASK Cedarwood, pigments, fibers and feathers - 46 cm Alaska Impressive mask representing the head of a wolf displaying in its wide-open mouth the masquette hiding the face of the holder. The mask bears a pair of hands and legs at the base, humanizing the mask. In a study from 1990 established by Frederick J. Dockstader, the following is stated: “It was probably made between 1900 and 1910 and represents the more dramatic design of Eskimo art... ...
