This metal sculpture reveals an organic, abstract form that subtly evokes a head or mask. Through fluid curves, textured surfaces and dynamic negative spaces, the artist captures movement and inner tension. The work reflects her mastery of metal and her ability to transform matter into an expressive and symbolic form. Lubanza graduated from the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa, then went on to study at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ESBA) in Paris before obtaining a degree in aesthetics and art theory at the Université de la Sorbonne. A specialist in metallurgy and engraving, he is widely recognised as one of the leading medallists in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
