Lot no. 115
Luc LANEL (1893-1965) for CHRISTOFLE
Suite of twelve large silver-plated "Atlas" cutlery sets.
Note: The Atlas model of the Christofle menagère was specially designed for the Normandie liner. This emblematic model, created in 1933 by Luc Lanel, Christofle's artistic director, was intended to decorate the dining room tables in the liner's first class. The Normandie, which entered service in 1935, represented the pinnacle of transatlantic luxury. The model was also produced in small series for the company's customers in silver 1st title or silver-plated metal.
