His works reveal great technical skill, narrative sensitivity and the ability to interpret the atmospheres of landscape and everyday life with lyrical finesse. Trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, where he was later appointed an academician of merit, he also distinguished himself for his mastery of drawing. He developed considerable experience as a fresco painter and decorator, working in villas and churches in the Veneto and northern Italy. He was a member of the Société des Aquarellistes de Bruxelles, a sign of his international openness and mastery of the watercolour technique, which he combined with oil painting throughout his career. He participated in important Italian and foreign exhibitions, including the Esposizioni Nazionali in Milan and Venice and the Royal Academy in London, gaining acclaim for the chromatic refinement and atmospheric intensity of his views. His painting, suspended between realism and sentiment, reflects the legacy of the Venetian school and the climate of post-romantic artistic renewal, making him one of the protagonists of 19th-century Venice.
