Extremely rare pamphlet describing an attempt to climb Mont-Blanc, four years before Dr Hamel; the author just missed the twelfth ascent of the summit of Mont-Blanc: he reached the "last rocks", a hundred metres below the summit. Autograph letter from the author to his sister Anna. Friedrich Wilhelm von Lusi (Potsdam 1792 - Berlin 1847) was an officer in the King of Prussia's guard; he was the son of a Greek émigré, Spiridion Lusi, who had a successful career as a diplomat (he was Prussian ambassador to London and St Petersburg).
