Luxurious hunting harquebus with double firing system. Flat-bodied lock, wick and wheel system. The spinning wheel is protected by a chased piece decorated with a snake, powerful flat-bodied pyrite hammer and serpentine decorated with a chimera-type animal. Barrel with double registers, with hollow then round step with beading of reinforcement with the mouth. It has a punch in a cartouche (illegible) on the upper side at thunder level. It is fitted with a brass front sight. The wooden stock is fully inlaid with engraved plates and bone fillets. The upper field of the stock features a filleted scene of Saint George slaying the dragon. The lower field depicts a spade, a hunting dog and a rabbit. On the other side is a scene depicting the killing of a stag by a man armed with a stake and a short sword, surrounded by dogs and a second figure who has just sounded the death knell. The counter-plate features two sea monsters back to back and a stylised female bust with a thumb piece. Trigger tail emerging from a mascaron. Long barrel decorated with a frieze of acorns, rabbits and interlacing. The trigger guard is missing. Some small accidents and missing parts. Total length: 160 cm Swiss or German work from the early 17th century.
