LUXURIOUS OFFICER'S SWORD OF THE HORSE-LIGHTERS RESTORATION Mounted in finely chased gilt bronze and engraved. Pommel with helmet with chenille. Joint bow with fleur-de-lys. Keyboard in the shape of a shield with lion's heads and the arms of France background of spears. Straight quillon and small decorated with a thunderbolt. Wooden spindle covered with two mother-of-pearl in mother-of-pearl. Straight Solingen blade with triangular engraved in gold and one third blued. Leather scabbard with two brass fittings. knob with palmette decoration. France, Restoration period. Total length: 97 cm BIBLIOGRAPHY : This sword was published and reproduced in the reference magazine "La Giberne" of July 1907, page 26. It is described as an officer's sword of the 1st Lancers. PROVENANCE : - Roger de Montégudet collection (1880-1925) - by descent to this day.
