Luxurious silver Empire lidded bowl, fully gilt. Flared, cylindrical stand surrounded by a fine lancet leaf frieze, merging into a conical body with narrow side handles ending in a fully sculpted swan depiction. The lower half of the wall decorated with alternating relief horns and flower wreaths. Correspondingly decorated lid rising in the centre. Central knob in the shape of a delicate flower wreath above a lancet leaf and flower rosette. Marked, hallmark, 950 guarantee mark Paris 1819-1838, master Quentin Baschelet (active from ca. 1813). Weight approx. 585 g. H. 13.5 cm. D. 14.3 cm. Cf. Rosenberg, vol. IV, no. 6578, 6592. A luxury French Empire gilt silver lidded bowl by Quentin Baschelet (active since approx. 1813).
