In-8 (23.5 × 17.3 cm), havana morocco, spine ribbed with cold filets extending over the boards, spine decorated with two gilt bees, gilt edges on witnesses (gilt head), inside framing of a mauve calf scroll, a taupe morocco scroll, pink morocco lining framed with mosaic flowers in mauve, blue and green morocco and gilt bees, green silk endpapers brocaded with mordor motifs, cover and spine preserved, case (Ch. Meunier. 1912). Edition with 70 coloured engravings by Carlos Schwabe, including the frontispiece and 2 stencilled engravings on the cover, and 67 in the text. Limited edition of 150 numbered copies; one of 125 reserved for Members of the Society (no. 120). The copy is enriched with a decomposition of one of the plates present in the work (p. 34). Unlike some copies, this one does not have an original watercolour. A fine copy in a binding by Charles Meunier. Slight scuffing to the binding. Slight tear restored on p. 53.
