Magnificent commemorative volume celebrating the wedding of King Philip V of Spain (1683-1746) and his second wife, Elisabeth Farnese (1692-1766), the last heir of the dynasty that had ruled Parma and Piacenza since the 16th century. The work is enriched by five large folding plates, based on drawings by Ilario Spolverini (1657-1734) and engraved by Giovanni Battista Sintes (1680-1760) and Francesco Maria Francia (1657-1735), depicting the nuptial procession with Cardinal Gozzadini entering the city, the lavish decorations of the cathedral, the ceremony itself, and a plan of the sacred building. 4to (325 x 210mm).
