Magnificent Spanish Percussion Gun Signed YLERA - Richly Inlaid with Gold and Silver, 1825. The gun has an octagon-to-round barrel hallmarked FCO YLERA beneath a crown, a gilt lion stamp, fleurs-de-lis on three sides of the hallmark, very fine engraving and inlay in gold and silver. Inscribed in Spanish "De Erraduras, Grabado Enia Galzada, Ano de 1825". The engraved and gold-inlaid percussion lock is inscribed YLERA. The hammer is finely chiseled in the shape of a stylized animal head, adding character and symbolic flair. All metal fittings of this gun are decorated with engraving and gold inlay in the same style. The stock is crafted from richly grained walnut and features crisp checkering and elegant carving, perfectly complementing the metalwork. Original ramrod with bone ending. The shotgun's proportions are balanced and graceful. In remarkable condition for its age, this piece represents the apex of Spanish decorative firearms from the percussion era and would make an outstanding addition to any advanced arms collection or historical display.
