RAAK Amsterdam, circa 1970 Height: 40 cm Maija-Liisa Komulainen is a post-war Finnish contemporary artist, born in 1922. Her work has been offered at several auctions. Among her most famous creations are lighting objects such as her Fuga sconces in aluminium, reminiscent of organ pipes with several concealed light sources, which she designed around 1970 for the Dutch lighting manufacturer Raak in Amsterdam . The company produced a large number of these luminaires, which, with their warm indirect light, were widely used in public buildings.
