The original series was published by Manufacture Dufour in 1815. The set was designed and engraved by Xavier Mader, after François Gérard and Pierre-Paul Prud'hon, the authors of the model. The panoramic was a huge success, being reprinted throughout the 19th century and again in the early 20th century by the Manufacture Desfossé et Karth. In 1947, the Desfossé et Karth collection became the property of Isidore Leroy.
