Note: Krieger began its cabinetmaking activity in the mid-19th century under the direction of Antoine Krieger (1804-1869), before diversifying its range with a decoration department that contributed to its prestige until around 1945. It produced projects and designs in both antique and modern styles. Nearly a thousand workers were employed in the workshops at 74-76 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris, producing luxury furniture as well as more classic pieces. They produced furniture of exceptional quality, with oak or mahogany fittings carefully chosen and decorated with selected veneers. Krieger was awarded a 2nd class medal at the Universal Exhibition in London in 1851 and also took part in numerous international exhibitions, including the one in Paris in 1855.
