Master of the views in the Langmatt Foundation, often identified as Apollonio Domenichini (1715- circa 1770), The Grand Canal at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi and the Palazzo dei Camerlenghi with the Rialto Bridge in the background, oil on canvas, 71x117 cm Provenance: Masters Investment Limited, Dublin, 07.06.1996, Swiss private collection Note: The Langmatt Foundation's Master of Vistas was named after a group of thirteen vedute paintings in the Langmatt Museum in Baden, Switzerland. He is now generally recognised as a member of the Facchinetti/Domenichini family of painters. Authenticity opinion by Ralph Toledano dated 30 July 1992, (as a Michele Giovanni Marieschi (1696/1710-1743) and his workshop) A Swiss Private Collection Lots 26 to 30, 2697 to 2701, 2703 and 2705 to 2707 marked in green in the printed catalogue come from a private Swiss collection. The collection is made up of high quality old paintings and drawings painstakingly assembled over almost 40 years (see page 33 of the printed catalogue).
