Jacques Louis Manget (Geneva 1784-1862) was a publicist, professor of French literature in Lausanne and lecturer at the École Normale de Paris. Bound with : Mr PRIVAZ. Promenade aux glaciers. Genève, P. A. Bonnant, 1821. A very rare anonymous work (not in Waeber, Barth, Barbier, etc.) whose author has been identified by the Bibliothèque de Genève. The report is divided into 5 days with titles inspired by proverbs; their itinerary classically passes through Cologny, Contamine sur Arve, Bonneville, Cluses, Magland, Saint-Martin, Chède, Servoz, Chamonix, Trient, Martigny, Bex, Evian and Geneva. Stamp of the Société de lecture de Genève on the first title, marks in ink on the flyleaf and title, label pasted on the back cover. Bookplate Peter Obergfell pasted on the first cover.
