Outfit of Chief Warrant Officer 1st Master of Farriery MATHIS of the 4th Chasseurs à Cheval (Epinal) consisting of a polo kepi (in the rank of Chief Warrant Officer) in madder cloth, headband in light blue cloth, silver rank brackets with scarlet chevrons, inner headdress in black sateen, tunic model 1893 in light blue cloth with scarlet collar decorated with silver embroidered number tabs, fastened at the front with 9 silver buttons, silver soutache braid with scarlet chevrons, gold embroidered speciality badge, Croix de Guerre with stars, fourragère and metallic number 4, epaulettes in gold piping with scarlet central fillet, light blue cotton lining, straight trousers in madder-coloured cloth with sky-blue side piping, modern shoes. Circa 1913-1915. Presented on a mannequin sold with this lot. BE
