Grenadier of the Garde nationale consisting of a cardboard shako covered in black cloth with red braid and cords, double pompom, plaque with uncrowned eagle in stamped brass, inner headdress in hessian and leather headband (headdress in cloth, headband and headdress reconstituted), a tunic with skirt in black cloth with red piping, pointed cuff, collar braids in white thread, white epaulettes, pewter buttons with uncrowned eagle, black cloth trousers with red side stripes, quilted buffalo belt, brass plate with eagle, bayonet holder with socketed bayonet model 1822, glaive holder and glaive model 1831, black leather gibernacle, black waxed canvas haversack with coat hanger decorated with white painted grenades, lorgnons, civilian shoes. The ensemble is presented on a mannequin that has been personalised. Wear and tear, a few moth holes, minor restorations. Second Empire period. ABE
