Lot no. 251
Manuscript in ¼ folio, hard vellum cover with coeval title label, good condition, some damp stains, appears complete. The manuscript is divided into two parts, the first part deals with everything princes and politicians should know, topics on the organisation of the state, public ethics and justice, with attention also to military topics. The second part, possibly by another author, the handwriting does not seem to correspond perfectly to the previous one, deals with various aphorisms and considerations on papal conclaves for the election of popes, with attention to the reasons for the exclusions of candidates and those that led to the investiture, with specific reference to popes and clergymen. The period of writing can be attributed to the turn of the 12th and 13th centuries. Of great interest.
