purple ‘gros de Tours’ brocade with polychrome silk bouquets in a knotted pattern. The coat is open at the bust, flared and slit at the sides below the waist, with long sleeves open at the forearm. Lining of blue reserve-dyed cotton canvas; bias binding in taffeta and Indian calico (faded in the sun, a few stains; lining has been raised).
