French-style dress coat, circa 1760-1770, lampas gros de Tours cream background edged in green with sinuous flowering vines. Coat features a train with Watteau pleats in the back, pagoda sleeves, and a front with stapled compères trimmed with gathered falbalas of the same fabric edged with a fine coordinating crest. Linen and check fabric bodice lining (small accidents on bottom, including discolorations, old alterations on top).
