In-4, ivory parchment, framed with two ink fillets on the boards, super handwritten bookplate on the upper board, traces of laces in the gutter, spine ribbed (period binding). A very fine terrier from the late 18th century. It consists of a title page framed by a large cartouche illustrated with grotesque figures, attributes of Justice, shells, etc., in ink and partially enhanced in watercolour. This is followed by an alphabetical table of lands and meadows and approximately 24 survey plans of the said lands and summaries of the locations, enhanced in watercolour with handwritten additions. They are drawn up on the left-hand pages, with descriptions of the land, measurements and comments opposite. The plans are decorated with plants, butterflies, numerous compass roses and arrows, in pen and heightened. Gusseted pocket on verso of first cover containing a Latin translation of a medieval manuscript and a copy of a notarial deed. Binding a little warped and blackened.
