Marc CHAGALL. Frogs Asking for a King. 1952. Etching, enhanced by hand with watercolour, 23.5 x 29.5. Signed in the plate, justified (19/85) below in pencil. Under passe-partout. Marc Chagall began engraving the copperplates illustrating La Fontaine's "Les Fables" in 1927. The print was completed on the presses of the Atelier Haasen in 1952."
