The cover is the original of an object by Marcel Duchamp in collaboration with Enrico Donati: Sein en mousse collé sur velours noir. First edition printed in 999 copies (n°754). Exposition Internationale du Surréalisme presented by André Breton and Marcel Duchamp illustrated with 5 original lithographs in colour by Brauner, Ernst, Hérold, Lam, Miró; 5 etchings by Bellmer, Marcel Jean, Maria, Yves Tanguy, Dorothéa Tanning; 2 woodcuts by Arp and 12 lithographs in black by Brignoni, Calder, Capacci, Suzanne Van Damme, De Diego, Donati, Hare, Jacqueline Lamba, Roberto Matta, Kay Sage, Tanguy and Toyen. A 6th original colour lithograph by Man Ray - not announced in the justification - is located on the hors-texte page between Max Ernst and De Diego. The work by Dorothéa Tanning - which should have been on p. 34 - is present but not bound (original), otherwise complete. The edition also contains 44 plates of out-of-text illustrations and 20 drawings. Crack of 4,5 cm with slight lack on the left part of the breast. Tissue not stiffened. Nipple soiled with small lack. Wrapping faded, otherwise very fresh inside.
