First edition of this logbook relating the first voyage by steam liner on the Mediterranean. It includes a map and 24 city views based on drawings by the author. This account of the voyage of the François Ier, which left Naples in April 1833, had already been published by Giraudeau in 1835. Little is known about Marchebeus, who described himself as an architect, soldier and traveller. Hinges cracked, binding worn, light foxing and spotting, label affixed to the false title.
