An acclaimed painter and art critic, Calderini was a pupil of Antonio Fontanesi in landscape painting classes, to whom he remained spiritually linked throughout his life. He distinguished himself for his descriptive language, which was more calm, naturalistic and rational, far from the lyrical and emotional allusions of the master from Reggio Emilia. Precocious, he began exhibiting at the age of twenty and since then has participated in almost all national and foreign exhibitions.
The work is accompanied by an authentication by G L Marini filed under no. 91356.
