Mario Rodolfo CARRARA was born on 5 November 1926 in Nembro, in the province of Bergamo, Italy. From 1943 he studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. He moved to Paris in 1948, leaving in 1999 for Bordeaux. From the end of the 60s until the 90s, he took part in collective exhibitions, before exhibiting individually from the 2000s onwards.
