Dancer standing on an oval plinth, swinging his leg, wearing the characteristically long cap with cock's feathers and holding the grotesque mask in his hand. Designed by Paul Scheurich. Model no. 85051, from the "SinnBilder" edition. Limited edition "02/50". Year mark. Certificate. Centreboard mark. H. 28 cm.
Scheurich was inspired for his dancer, designed around 1931 to 1933, by a graphic model from Jacques Callot's "Balli di Sfessania", as well as the opera "Hoffmann's Tales" by Jacques Offenbach, based on the stories by E. T. A. Hoffmann.
