Partially illegible name label marked SS Punzenberg Franz. The shard that penetrated the case is present in the housing for the spare lenses. Complete canvas mask, all straps present. Number 438. Complete filter, it also has the impact that went through the case. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. Lemarchand Normandie Collection. Waffen-SS gas mask with long metal canister heavily oxidised. Pull strap intact but other straps missing. Feldgrau paint at 20 percent. Impact hole on the rear of the canister. Spare lenses present. Partially legible label reading SS Punzenberg Franz. The shrapnel fragment that pierced the canister remains lodged in the spare lens compartment. Mask complete with all straps present. Filter numbered 438 and also pierced by the same fragment.
