Masterpiece of Clockmaking Luxurious table clock "Grande Sonnerie" by La Vallée from 2011
Sterling silver, partially gold-plated and partially rhodium-plated. Framed reserves of finely guilloché, emerald green enamel, rock crystal and 750 gold hands set with diamonds. Straight, rectangular, faceted glazed body, flanked on all sides by full columns with moulded bases and Corinthian capitals on a moulded base with engraved tongue frieze. Edged handle made of multi-partite baluster elements. The dial finely engraved in relief with a central chapter ring and various displays for thermometer and hygrometer, alarm disc as well as strike stop and rate regulator, marked La Vallée Grand Sonnerie N.001. Lavishly hand-engraved and gilt 8-day movement of curved struts with tourbillon echappement and 21 rubies. Sog. Grand and petit sonnerie, strike and alarm on two gongs. Repetition. Corresponding, sloping base below with so-called revolving function, which allows the piece to be wound without moving it on its base. Overall h. 32.5 cm. 23.4 cm x 20.4 cm. Clock h. 28.7 cm. Box and accompanying book in seal-red, gold-stamped leather.
