MATCHED PAIR OF BYZANTINE GOLD EARRINGS WITH GARNETS, EMERALDS AND PEARLS.

A matched pair of gold pendant earrings, each with an elongated looped ear wire with a small loop at the lower edge suspending a chain of rounded links that descends to a semicircular plaque centred by an emerald cabochon set within a beaded circular mount, with a curved gold cell above set with a cabochon garnet and small gold bosses to either side, the straight lower edge fitted with three hinged pearl drops and further pearls at the sides.
