This imposing work, long considered the best treatise on medical matters, contains a portrait of the author on the title and more than 1000 FIGURES of plants, distillation apparatus, shellfish, fish, animals, insects and woodcut vignettes depicting the viper hunter, the milking of cows and the making of butter, the shearing of sheep's wool, the beekeeper... Title soiled and lined with lack at the corner affecting part of the date and name of the printer, several leaves creased, otherwise the interior is fresh. (Baudrier IX, 340).
