Sergueï Sergueïevitch Maximov (real name Pachine; 1916-1967) - Russian prose writer, poet and playwright. Representative of the second wave of Russian emigration. In 1936-1941, he was imprisoned in a concentration camp in Pechora. In 1943, he emigrated to Germany. His novel 'Denis Bushuyev' (1949) and his collection of short stories 'Taiga' were far ahead of the 'camp prose' of A. Solzhenitsyn and V. Shalamov.
Taiga' is a collection of 15 stories about life in Soviet concentration camps.
One of the earliest examples of Soviet camp prose.
