LOCK OF HAIR FROM THE KING OF ROME Presented under glass, circled in brass on a green satin background with a handwritten certificate from Valérie Masuyer, lady-in-waiting to Queen Hortense: "Hair of the King of Rome cut when he was only 14 months old. Given by Mr Marchand in Strasbourg in 1838 in memory of the care I gave to his aunt Queen Hortense for 7 years. Signed "Valérie Masuyer". Gilt frame decorated with laurel leaves. 28 x 20 cm B.E.
