RECTANGULAR TABLE MEDAL FROM GENERAL DE GAULLE In bronze, the obverse showing a charging infantryman, the reverse marked "Hommage à la vaillance française. Amitiés françaises Dinant 11.9.27". 65 x 46 mm B. E. Attached is a medal depicting an allegory of Alsace and Lorraine, which belonged to Charles de Gaulle before the First World War. Historical background: By family tradition, this medal was given to the General on 15 August 1970 in memory of his wound at Dinant, received in the lower leg on 15 August 1914.
