An oval rock crystal pendant medallion engraved with mouldings. engraved with mouldings, the hollow centre with an eglomised glass medallion depicting Christ in profile to the left, and on the obverse a Virgin and Child. and on the obverse a Virgin and Child. Mounted in white, green, blue and red enamelled gold. Southern Italy, probably Trapani circa 1600. Height with setting Gross weight : 27.86 grs (small missing enamels). An almost identical medallion from the Cathedral of the Virgin of Pilar in Saragossa. Pilar in Saragossa, Spain, is on display at the Victoria & Albert Albert Museum (Inv. No 347-1870).
