Meissen unique wall sculpture "Gestürzter Stamm" by Peter Strang Mounted on a grey lacquered wooden back panel. Rectangular, wavy-edged porcelain panel with irregularly curved, partially wrinkled surface depicting a gnarled tree made of freely modelled and applied, intentionally cracked, glazed formal elements. Polychrome overglaze painting with pointillist, contrasting, filled-in areas of colour and geometric shapes in green, yellow, red and brown, composed of closely juxtaposed brushstrokes. Designed and executed by Peter Strang (1936 - 2022). Artist's sign. and date "P. Strang (19)88". Unique no. 055/1989. crossed swords mark. Back panel 60 cm x 80 cm. Plastic h. 58 cm x 40 cm x 10 cm. The wall sculpture created in the artistic workshops of the Meissen State Porcelain Manufactory is a unique object in terms of form and painting and is therefore one of a kind.
