In 1896, on their way back from the funeral of a Montmartre poet, Georges Courteline, Paul Delmet, Bertrand Millanvoye and Albert Michaut stopped off to drink a few bocks in a Montmartre brasserie called "L'Ane Rouge". As they drank one bock after another and dinner time approached, the four good friends decided not to leave each other and to play the game "with dice". Such is the origin of the "Dîner du Cornet". Dîners du Cornet are held monthly, usually at the Café Cardinal, and a highly original menu is designed for each one.
