MESOPOTAMIAN FOUNDATION CONE WITH CUNEIFORM INSCRIPTIONS. Ca. 2400 - 1800 BC. A clay foundation cone with cuneiform arranged in vertical panels separated by broad grooves. A narrow collar encircles the upper body, the tapering shaft ending in a rounded tip. The circular base is slightly convex with a projecting foot ring.
