MESOPOTAMIAN STONE MACE HEAD Ca. 3600 - 3100 BC. An inverted pear-shaped mace head made of a cream hard stone with a drilled central hole and a smooth surface. The piece has a very pleasing weight in the hand and was likely mounted on perishable material in its original use. Size: 65mm x 55mm; Weight: 245g. Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1990s.
