Love at first sight in Monaco. In the spring of 1955, Grace Kelly was in Cannes to present La Main au collet. The Rock and its Prince were not far away and Paris Match proposed a photo shoot for 6 May. What started out as a nice scoop
was to give rise to one of the great love stories of the century. And it transformed Monaco from a small principality into a glamorous kingdom. When the princess died accidentally in 1982 at the age of 52, the whole scenario turned tragic. Rainier never wanted to replace her.
