Mies DE WILDE (1932-2009)* - Belgium Superb wide bracelet consisting of three circular shapes in hammered silver with finely curved edges. Signature of the master jeweller. Several of his silver pieces are on display at the DIVA museum in Antwerp. Dimensions: 6.2 x 20 cm. Gross weight: 88.9 g. The late 1950s saw Mies De Wilde emerge as one of the great designers of Belgian jewellery. Indeed, at the 1958 Universal Exhibition in Belgium, he exhibited in the pavilion of the Province of Antwerp. He trained in Belgium, first in Antwerp and then in Brussels at the famous Ecole St Luc. He set up his studio on the outskirts of Brussels, in Grand-Bigard.
