MINER'S AXE
Saxony, dated 1713.
Wooden shaft inlaid with bone in the shape of stylized flowers, piqué, and miners in reserves. The shaft end bears the Saxon coat of arms and crossed hammers with the date. Angular iron blade with an upward-curving tip. Openwork in the shape of a trefoil and in two corners with three dots each.
L 91 cm.
Blade with traces of corrosion, signs of use.
