MINER'S AXE
Saxony, dated 1731. The end of the shaft is marked J.N.W. CHO ANNO 1731.
Shaft made of bone segments, engraved with ten figures of the apostles, flowers, leaves, and Christ on the cross, with Mary and Magdalene below. The end is engraved with the Saxon coat of arms and a figure on horseback.
L 82 cm.
Blade slightly corroded, signs of use.
