Miniatures Miniature portrait of the Hamburg merchant Salomon Heine and his wife Betty Heine. Circa 1820, each gouache on leg. Each approx. 5.5 x 4 cm in oval. Each uniformly mounted under passepartout and framed under glass. Finely painted works by the Hamburg merchant and banker Salomon Heine and his wife (cf. Wiborg, "Salomon Heine", p. 34). The latter became particularly well known as a patron of his nephew, the poet Heinrich Heine, and was also known as the "Rothschild of Hamburg" due to his benevolence. - In fine condition.
