Finely painted works by the Hamburg merchant and banker Salomon Heine and his wife (cf. Wiborg, "Salomon Heine", p. 34). The latter became particularly well known as a patron of his nephew, the poet Heinrich Heine, and was also known as the "Rothschild of Hamburg" due to his benevolence. - In fine condition.
